Where Can You be in 72 Hours?

It’s a question that has been popping up in the expat community. Where can you be in 72 hours? That means, in another country and in another house or residence (Rent, or other), not being at the airport at hour 72. And also being able to stay there, potentially indefinitely if necessary.

For most people, the answer is not very far. Most people are stuck to one location, they have a house which is most of their net worth, and their job requires to be in some specific location (office, etc). This keeps them trapped. If something terrible happens in their community, or country they are just going to have to deal with it along with everyone else there.

What are you going to do? Leave your life savings behind and quit your job?

That’s why it is important to have at least one plan B. If you have residency, or citizenship, or even just a long-term visa, you can move you and your family to another country if things start to get bad.

Considering you can get residency abroad just by proving you have some cash in the bank (Like Mexico), temporarily depositing some money (Like Paraguay), or even make money by investing in bonds (Like Ecuador), the real question is why wouldn’t you?

Even if you aren’t interested in those countries, you can get residency in almost any country on earth, somehow. Maybe try traveling to these places as well, you might be surprised at how much you like it after all.

Having at least one second residency will provide you and your family with the ultimate form of insurance that most everyone else never even considers. And considering the significant and accelerating decline in social cohesion seen in many western countries, particularly in the USA, you might want that second residency sooner rather than later.

That’s why I started this blog. I wanted to help regular people, like yourself, find and take advantage of these opportunities, even if they don’t have a lot of money. I hope you find some useful information on this site to help you on your journey. Please feel free to leave a comment and ask any question you may have and I will try my best to help you out.
